The hard wood base is useful if you need to get your plumbing away between the base of the shower and the floor. These bases are not supplied, but can be made quite simply.

It is recommended that you make a timber box using 110x46mm structural pine timber and a 16 to 19mm thick piece of ply board on top for the shower to sit on. These pictures illustrate the kind of timber base that it is recommended to use to seat the shower enclosure on.
